Alice Deal Middle School

Built in 1903 as the first school for African Americans of the Reno City subdivision in the Tenleytown area, Alice Deal Middle School is the largest and considered the best middle school in the District. The restored Reno building provides a visual link to its history while providing for modern teaching styles for more than1,200 students. The installation of a planted green roof, a daylight harvesting system, and large windows contributed to the LEED Gold certification.
