Anacostia Neighborhood Library

RMc, guided planning, design, and construction for the interior spaces with the Freelon Group, and directed construction administration at the Anacostia Library. The library design embraces the surrounding natural environment and includes a bio-retention pond to purify runoff water and return it to the surrounding earth. The library’s program addresses the needs of the community by providing meeting rooms, a children’s program room, group study and tutoring spaces, and plenty of reading areas. This project is LEED® Gold via the U.S. Green Building Council.
